Mirza M. Ashraf – M.D., F.A.A.C., F.C.C.P. & CEO

Dr. Ashraf is co-founder and Medical Director of Pulse-MD Urgent Care. He has 42 years experience as a physician and has the distinction of holding five separate Board Certifications. Dr. Ashraf feels there is a great need for non-life threatening emergency care in America in order to ease the burden on hospital ER’s and allow more accessible care to the local community when they need it. He has served as Faculty at Upstate Medical University and Medical Director of Carthage Area Hospital for 15 years. He is on the Medical Staff at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital and Westchester Medical Center.

Faisal M. Ashraf – Administrative Director/COO

Faisal Ashraf completed medical school in England and did medical work in Senegal. Part of his medical education was at the Northport V.A. Stony Brook University Medical Center in NY. He is currently taking an administrative role at Pulse-MD Urgent Care and is responsible for business development and insurance contract negotiation. Faisal is a member of the Urgent Care Association of America and is a strong supporter of their mission. He is also founder of Health Care Policy News and is working to make it a mainstream outlet for todays fast pace changes in policy. Faisal has done volunteer work for Seeds of Peace and was on the host committee for the Peace Market for two consecutive years. His favorite past time is sitting on his backyard deck with his family and doing BBQ’s.

John Dubberstein, MD

A graduate of USC Medical School in Los Angeles, Dr. Dubberstein has a background in family medicine. For 12 years, he was a full time attending physician at Putnam Hospital Center, and he has been a full time practitioner of urgent care medicine for over 16 years. He has worked abroad in various locations, and has a specialty interest in tropical medicine. A lifelong musician, he also maintains interest in sports medicine and fitness training.

Reina Barrett-Baas, FNP

Dr. Reina Barrett-Baas is a Board Certified DNP-FNP. She has worked with Pulse MD for over 3 years, and enjoys seeing our lovely patients from the Hudson Valley region. She enjoys the fast-past environment, variety and complexity of our urgent care patients. She also currently works as an instructor at PACE University and precepts for many other colleges. She has an interest in dermatology and is also certified in Botox and injectables. Reina is also involved with missionary work, and took a couple of years off from college to travel abroad with a missions group. She has extensive experience in pediatrics,  with working in many different children’s hospital, she has developed pediatric policies and procedures,  taught as a pediatric clinical adjunct, and worked as a legal consultant. She enjoys taking care of patients from the community where she lives with her family. In her free time, she likes spending time with family and friends.

Anna-Marie D’Avanzo, FNP-BC

Anna-Marie is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner native to Dutchess County. She received her BSN from The College of Mount Saint Vincent where she also received her MSN. After many years as an advanced practice nurse, Anna-Marie decided to further her career by becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has practiced in several different venues including schools, hospitals, and private practice. Her commitment to quality care and love of emergency medicine have come together here at Pulse-MD. In addition to practicing at Pulse-MD, she also spends time in the long-term care setting treating elderly patients with multiple chronic diseases.

Meagan Soltwisch, DNP-c, FNP-BC

Meagan is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, currently pursuing her doctorate with a focus in patient’s perceptions. Meagan attended Washington State University for her BSN-RN and Gonzaga University for her MSN-FNP. She is currently enrolled in Gonzaga University’s Doctorate of Nursing Practice.  After receiving her BSN-RN she worked in pre-operative and the post analgesic care unit. As a FNP-BC, Meagan has worked in primary care and pediatrics, but has a passion to work in urgent care and has enjoyed the opportunity to work at Pulse-MD. Meagan is a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner, enjoys educating patients and their families about their disease processes, expected outcomes and healthy behaviors. Meagan enjoys spending time with her husband and children as well as her friends.  Being outside, involved in her church, cooking, and traveling are Meagan’s favorite past-times.

Carmen Jackson, FNP-BC

Ms. Jackson has a background in biology and graduated from the University of South Carolina College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Pace University and holds a Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  Her experience as a Nurse Practitioner includes two years in Primary Care and fifteen years in Urgent Care. Ms. Jackson enjoys her career at Pulse-MD as she can see a variety of patients.
